Developing a Data Fellowship Program and Peer-to-Peer Support Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objectives: To support the library’s research data services program and provide opportunities for student employees to gain skills in supporting science teaching, author led creation of a fellowship at their institution. The describes development program’s peer-to-peer model how that was integrated into broader program. Methods: There were two aspects fellowship’s model. First, fellows provided direct peers—through instruction, reference support, outreach—who engaged data-related projects class assignments. Second, professional learning by library colleagues. Results: During first year program, virtual developed CANVAS modules, conducted an email outreach campaign, authored several blog posts. Furthermore, received training discussions with experts on pertinent topics. These knowledge can be utilized both during after fellowship. Conclusions: STEM Data Fellowship proved successful establishing foundation robust author’s plans further enhance grow future years providing more established new contribute ongoing RDS efforts.

A Model for Data Management in Peer-to-Peer Systems
With the current growth in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) computing, data management in P2P systems has become a very important issue, yet from literature little research effort has been dedicated to this field. Data management in P2P systems covers a wide range of issues starting from storage and indexing, replication and search to security and privacy. In this paper we propose a modularized data manageme...
متن کاملTAC: A Topology-Aware Chord-based Peer-to-Peer Network
Among structured Peer-to-Peer systems, Chord has a general popularity due to its salient features like simplicity, high scalability, small path length with respect to network size, and flexibility on node join and departure. However, Chord doesn’t take into account the topology of underlying physical network when a new node is being added to the system, thus resulting in high routing late...
متن کاملA Scalable Peer-to-Peer Lookup Model
One of the core problems of P2P computing is resource locating. The main research results of determined resource locating algorithms are four distributed hash table algorithms, i.e: CAN, Chord, Pastry and Tapestry. Based on these algorithms , this paper presents a hierarchical and manageable resource locating model (HMRLM)which can provide P2P networks with scalability and manageability.
متن کاملA Reflective Middleware to Support Peer-to-Peer Overlay Adaptation
As peer-to-peer systems are evolving from simplistic application specific overlays to middleware platforms hosting a range of potential applications it has become evident that increasingly configurable approaches are required to ensure appropriate overlay support is provided for divergent applications. This is exacerbated by the increasing heterogeneity of networked devices expected to host the...
متن کاملA Peer-to-Peer Internet for the Developing World
Users in the developing world are typically forced to access the Internet at a fraction of the speed achievable by a standard v.90 modem. In this article, we present an architecture to enable ofoine access to the Internet at the maximum possible speed achievable by a standard modem. Our proposed architecture provides a mechanism for multiplexing the scarce and expensive international Internet b...
